Terms of Service

Last updated: 27 October 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you and KEYNATE PRIVATE LIMITED (“Keynate”, “we”), a Private Limited Company incorporated in India (CIN U62011HR2026PTC149859, GSTIN 06AANCK1963C1ZL), with its registered office at Plot No. B&B1, Enkay Tower, Industrial Complex Dundahera, Vanijya Nikunj, Gurugram, Haryana 122016, India. By creating an account, buying or using Keynate, you accept them. If you buy for a business, you confirm you can bind it. You must be at least 18.

The service

Keynate lets you choose a product (for example a News website, with optional mobile apps), a template and a plan, and your own secure server from our hosting partner. After you pay and connect your domain, Keynate installs and runs the software on your server. The software and the data of your site live on your server. If cloud media storage is switched on for your site, the images and files in it are kept by Keynate for you until the final backup period after your service ends. Keynate Platform keeps your account, billing, licence and server records.

Your account

  • Give correct details and keep them up to date.
  • Keep your sign-in safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at once if you think it was misused.

Plans, servers and payment

  • Prices are shown before you pay: INR including GST for India, USD for others. Taxes are added where the law requires.
  • Plans, paid features, templates and apps renew each month or year until you cancel. Servers are bought for you at cost, and the server price is shown separately.
  • Payments are processed by Razorpay (cards, UPI in India, international cards). Keynate does not store your card details. You can also pay all or part of an order from your Keynate Wallet.
  • Discounts from coupons, sales and invites are shown on the checkout and on your invoice before you pay (see Coupons and discounts).
  • If we change a price, existing customers keep their current price until their next renewal, and we tell you before it applies.
  • Cancellations and refunds follow our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

Late or failed payment

Before each renewal we send you an invoice and reminders by email and in your account. If you have not paid by the due date, you have a grace period of 7 days after the due date to pay, also shown in your billing page and in our emails. During the grace period your site keeps running. If you still have not paid when it ends, we suspend your site: visitors see a suspended page, and your data is kept (we take a final backup). Pay the outstanding amount and we bring it back. We never delete a suspended site automatically: if a suspension lasts for a long time, we may end the service as described below, after warning you by email.

Coupons and discounts

  • A coupon or sale lowers the price of the items it covers, as shown at checkout. Each coupon has its own rules (for example what it applies to, the countries, dates, a minimum order, first order only, how many times it can be used and for how many renewals). If a code can’t be used, checkout says why.
  • One code per order (a coupon or an invite code). An automatic sale may combine with it only if both allow it; otherwise we apply whichever saves you more and say so.
  • A discount is shown on your invoice and lowers the taxable value; GST in India is worked out on the price after the discount.
  • A discount for several renewals ends early if you move to a plan it doesn’t cover or if the order it came with is refunded. A coupon has no cash value and can’t be exchanged, sold or combined against its own rules.
  • We may refuse or cancel a discount used in breach of its rules or through abuse (for example several accounts of one person). We never change what you get with your plan because of a discount.

Keynate Wallet

  • Your Keynate Wallet holds credit for Keynate services: rewards and goodwill credit from us (these expire after the period shown in your wallet, 12 months unless stated) and refunds you chose to keep as credit (these don’t expire).
  • Credit is kept per currency and pays orders in that currency only. It is used for Keynate orders (new sites, renewals, add-ons, apps, plan changes) and is never paid out as cash, withdrawn, transferred to another person or exchanged.
  • At checkout your credit is pre-selected (you can switch it off on each order, or in Wallet settings). It is applied after discounts and tax: your invoice shows the full amount and “Paid from Keynate Wallet”. If only a little would be left to pay, a small amount (at least ₹1 or 1.00 in your currency) is paid by card or UPI.
  • Renewals are never paid from your wallet without you pressing Pay, unless you turn on “Pay renewals from my wallet automatically” in Wallet settings (off by default). With it on, a renewal your wallet fully covers is paid on its renewal date; we email you 3 days before and announce any price change at least 15 days ahead, so you can switch it off or cancel in time.
  • If an order paid partly from your wallet is refunded, the wallet part goes back to your wallet, see the Refund Policy. If you delete your account, reward credit is forfeited; a balance of refunds kept as credit must be spent first, or ask us to refund it to your original payment method.

Referral program

When it is open, you can invite others to Keynate with your personal link: your friend gets 10% off their first site and you get 10% of their first payment (not counting GST, server and setup fees) as Keynate Wallet credit as soon as your friend’s site is live (if their setup fails, they are refunded automatically and no reward is given). The rules, rewards, limits and fair-use checks are in the Referral Program Terms, which form part of these terms.

Your data after the service ends

When your service ends, we keep an encrypted final backup of your site for up to 60 days so you can come back, then we delete it. We keep only the records we must keep by law, for example invoices.

Your content and your rights

  • You own your content: articles, images, videos, readers’ data and everything else you put on your site. You give Keynate only the right to store, copy, back up, display and process it to provide the service.
  • You are responsible for your content, including that you have the rights to it and to any stream or embed you publish, and that it follows the law.
  • You are the controller of your readers’ personal data. You must have a privacy policy for your site and follow the laws that apply to you.
  • Keynate owns the Keynate software, templates, brand and platform. A paid plan or template gives you a licence to use them on your site while your subscription is active. You may not copy, resell or reverse engineer them, or remove licence checks.
  • Your site shows no Keynate attribution unless you choose it.

Acceptable use

You must not use Keynate to:

  • break the law, or publish content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexually exploitative of children, or that infringes someone’s copyright, trademark or privacy;
  • send spam, run phishing or spread malware;
  • attack, probe or overload any system, or try to get around licence, security or usage limits;
  • mine crypto, host illegal gambling, or run services that harm other users of the network;
  • pretend to be another person or organisation, or mislead readers in a harmful way;
  • break the rules of our partners (our server hosting partner, Razorpay, Cloudflare, Apple, Google, Meta, OpenRouter and others) that apply to your use.

If you break these rules, we may remove content, suspend or end the service. For serious or urgent cases we may act first and explain after. We may also act on a valid legal order or notice.

Email and messaging acceptable use

These rules apply to every email or message sent through Keynate, including newsletters, sign-in emails and alerts to your readers.

  • No spam. Send only what the person expects from you.
  • Do not use bought, rented or scraped lists, and do not send cold outreach.
  • Send newsletters only to subscribers who have confirmed their subscription. Every newsletter must have a working unsubscribe link, and you must honour unsubscribes at once.
  • We may pause or limit your sending, without notice if needed, when complaints, bounces or abuse put deliverability at risk for you or for other customers. We will tell you why and help you fix it.
  • You are responsible for the content you send and for having the right to send it.
  • If our email sending service is switched on for your site: until you verify your own email domain, emails are sent from Keynate’s shared sending address, with your site’s name as the sender name. After you verify your domain, they are sent from your own address.

Updates and your changes

Keynate publishes updates to the software. We apply them to your site only with your consent. The one exception is a critical security update: we tell you first and give you time (usually 72 hours, less for a flaw that is being actively exploited) to choose when it installs; if you don’t choose, it installs by itself in your site’s maintenance window (by default 02:00 to 05:00, site time), and we tell you before and after. Every update, deploy and AI edit is a saved version on your server, and an update that fails its health check is rolled back automatically. You can revert to an earlier version. AI output can be wrong: review it before you publish.

AI assistant

Your site admin includes an AI assistant. It works through your own OpenRouter account, with free or paid models that you pick. That account, what it costs and its terms are between you and OpenRouter; Keynate does not sell AI credits. The assistant never handles payments, passwords or keys and cannot unlock paid features. Risky changes (for example code, sending data off your site, roles, sending messages or app store steps) wait for your approval.

Mobile apps and app stores

  • These points apply if you add the apps add-on and app store publishing is switched on for your site. Apps are published under your own Apple Developer and Google Play accounts, in your name. You pay the stores’ fees to Apple and Google and accept their terms.
  • We pre-fill the store listing and the answers to the stores’ forms from your site; you check and confirm them, and you are responsible for them.
  • Apple and Google decide on app review and may refuse or remove an app. We help you fix what they ask for, but we cannot guarantee approval.
  • You can disconnect your store accounts at any time. Apps you already published stay in the stores.

Data you send elsewhere

Automations, webhooks, data feeds and custom functions that you set up (yourself or with the AI assistant) send your site’s data to the places you choose. You are responsible for those places and for having the right to send the data there.

Service levels

We run the service with reasonable care and aim for it to be available, but we give no guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free service. Your site runs on a server we order for you from a third party, so we are not responsible for faults of that provider beyond what we get back from them. If your server is lost, we aim to restore your latest daily backup onto a new server within these targets:

PlanMax data loss (RPO)Back online (RTO)
Pro24 hours8 hours
Pro Ultra / Custom24 hours4 hours
Pro Ultra Max24 hours2 hours

These are targets on a best-effort basis, not guarantees, and they depend on your provider and DNS being available. Support is by email and is answered in business hours.

Ending the service

  • By you: cancel any time in My sites → your site → Billing → Cancel subscription (see the refund policy). The service continues until the end of the period you paid for and is then not renewed; cancelling does not refund anything automatically.
  • By us: we may end or suspend the service for breach of these terms, non-payment after the grace period, legal reasons, or if we stop offering the product (with at least 30 days’ notice, and a refund of any prepaid period that we cannot serve).
  • Your data: your site data is on your server. Before or after ending, you can export your content and take a copy of your backups. If your server is cancelled with the provider, it is deleted there, so export first. After the service ends we delete the records we hold that we do not have to keep, as in our Privacy Policy. To ask for deletion, see data deletion.

Limits of our responsibility

To the fullest extent the law allows: the service is provided “as is”. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, revenue, readers or goodwill, or for loss caused by third-party services, your content, your misuse, or events outside our control. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to Keynate for the service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or death or injury caused by negligence.

You agree to cover losses and claims caused by your content or your breach of these terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at the location of our registered office in India have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights you have in your own country. Please contact us first and give us a chance to put things right.

Language

keynate.com is available in many languages for your convenience. These terms, the privacy policy, the refund policy and our other legal pages are written in English. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version prevails.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will update the date above and email you about important changes. If you keep using the service after the change takes effect, you accept it. If you do not agree, you can cancel.
