How to delete your data

Keynate lets news publishers connect their own Facebook Pages, Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn (profile or company page), Telegram and X accounts to their own website so articles can be shared automatically (the Social sharing feature). This page explains what is stored and how to remove it. Last updated: 23 October 2026.

What is stored

  • Page or account ids, display names and the channel type (for example a Facebook Page).
  • The encrypted access token for the connected account or page. It is kept on the publisher’s own server. For X only, Keynate keeps the token, encrypted, so it can post for the publisher.
  • A log of what was published through the connection (post ids and time).

We do not collect your friends, messages, private posts or advertising data.

Remove a connection yourself

  1. Sign in to your site admin.
  2. Open Social sharing.
  3. Find the connection and select Remove. The stored token, id and name for it are deleted (for X, also from Keynate). Closing the site deletes them too.

You can also remove the Keynate app from the platform itself: Facebook and Instagram (Settings, Business integrations), Threads (Settings, Website permissions), and LinkedIn (Settings, Data privacy, Permitted services).

Other connections

  • App stores (if app store publishing is switched on for your site): in My sites, open your site, then Apps, and choose Disconnect (Google Play) or Remove key (App Store). We delete the key and the signing certificate copy we hold. Apps you already published stay in the stores.
  • AI: your OpenRouter key is kept only on your own server. Disconnect it in your site admin to remove it.

Request deletion

Email [email protected] from the address on your Keynate account, naming the website and the connected account or page. We confirm within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days.

Deletion requested from Facebook or Instagram

If you remove the Keynate app in Facebook or Instagram settings and ask for your data to be deleted, Meta notifies us automatically. You receive a confirmation code and can check the status at /data-deletion/status.
